Step 1 of 4 · Feasibility study

The project

One site to sort, recycle and generate electricity.

The recovery plant is the heart of the VIPRO programme. Waste collected in the districts arrives here, is sorted and weighed, then each material goes to its own channel.

What cannot be recycled is dried into a solid fuel for a power plant. The residues from that step go to Operation O2, which turns them into paving stones, bricks and street furniture.

  • SortEach material is weighed, then goes to its own channel.
  • RecyclePlastic, metal and glass are sold to recyclers.
  • Generate electricityThe plant runs on fuel made from waste.
